My boyfriend’s been away for work this week and sounds like he’s had a bit of a torrid time, so I thought I would make him his favourite pudding (trifle) to cheer him up. It’s a really quick and simple desert and you can make it more sophisticated if you are making it for an occasion or just make a cheap, cheerful and slap dash version like the one below, but it saddens me.
When ever you get a big bowl of virgin trifle it looks amazing, but as soon as a spoon is inserted the layers become muddled with cream, custard and jelly smeared haphazardly everywhere. Not to mention the flopping about in a bowl.
The solution? Mini trifles in a glass tumbler. A pristine serving every time.
